he historical archive of the co-operative movement of credit wants to gather all the information available about the Argentinian entities of credit such as: credit unions, cajas populares and co-operative banks.
The co-operative movement of credit in Argentina has its origin at the beginning of the twentieth century, developing activities related to the financial legislation based on the idea of solidarity and democratic participation. These institutions grow till becoming an important socio-economic movement, mainly since the foundation of the Instituto Movilizador de Fondos Cooperativos (1958).
The Archive counts with the sponsorship of the Banco Credicoop Cooperativo Limitado, that wants to rescue and preserve the historical memory of that movement that gave birth to it. This bank is the only financial institution that goes on with that kind of legislation.
It works in the city of Buenos Aires (Argentine Republic) since 1995 . Its manager is Professor Daniel Plotinsky.
